J-Kids Adventures

How is that even possible - we have a 1 year old child! No longer can we call our daugher a baby. Because she is not. She is a young child, a toddler. So, keeping up with my tradition I will list the newest indicators of growth for Isabella Sofia: -  Isabella is 33 in (100% for her age) and 25 1/2 lb (97%) (at our 1 year and 2 weeks appointment) - Has 8 teeth - Says several words - Dada, Mama, Baba, I-Raz (there you go! in Russian) - Enjoys dancing - Eats most foods, but still nurses 4-5 times a day; and during our trip wakes up a night at least once or twice every night. - Loves to throw the ball, knows how to kick the ball - Knows how to wipe the table, and likes to try to sweep the floor. - Can go up and down the stairs - Loves water - bath time, washing hands, swimming in the ocean - Absolutely fearless when it comes to the ocean - she sees the endless blue abyss and charges full speed into it...

So here is a quick update on the last week. The week that can be called the grand teething week, and this week is not over yet. However, we made some incredible progress - while just 18 days ago Isabella only had 3 teeth, as of yesterday she has 7 teeth that broke the gum, five of which are showcased on the pictures below. We are waiting for the left top tooth to come in to make two rows of cute pearls. Also, new development this week - Isabella is becoming a master in repeating after us. Just today she learned how to raise her hands high when being told "hand up" in Russian, and was trying to jump, when Daddy tells her to "jump" (in English). It looks more like a squatting dance at this point - totally adorable. Some other updates - for the last couple of weeks Isabella has been showing an interest in brushing her hair, and brushing her teeth. Our energetic joyful baby girl is 10 months old today. It is incredible to think, that exactly one year ago my dear family threw a surprise baby shower for Isabella!!! What a wonderful day it was! Such a blessing to see our family and many of our friend at the same time, and get ready to prepare to welcome our baby girl. Today Isabella is 23.4 lbs. During the last month Isabella mastered clapping, waving bye-bye, and even made two steps without support. Most of her awake time is spent in relentless exploration, through "cruising" (walking while holding on to furniture and walls), and crawling (she completely abandoned "commando crawl" at this point, and primarily moves through regular "all fourth" crawl, with occasional episodes of "bear crawling" = hands and feet). She also enjoys "dancing," walking with her push toys, and crawling over the doggy.  Favorite toys - balls and moving boxes.  Number of teeth - 3, with 3 more ready...
